hey everybody marcus crawford here withthe idaho quadcopter channel hey i havea product for you today uh that is not adrone uh but anybody that doesyoutube videos this is an issue thatyou're always looking at you're alwaystrying to get good audio and i've trieda number of different ways to do thatshotgun mic on top of thecamera wireless microphones etc and i'vehad a company send me something herethat i think is going to be of interestthis is the lensgo 2.4g wireless microphone that is its model 348cand there's some interesting featureswith this productthat i want to tell you about and we'regoing to get out and and demonstratelet's quit messing around let's get thisthing out of the boxokay here's the case itself andit's got some record buttons and thingson here but those are just for looks uhit's just ai think they made this wholecase look like a bigger version of whatthe othermodules are so let's open it up and takea lookso inside there what do we have we'vegottwo microphone transmitters andone receiver the receiver is what youwould hook up to your camera or whateverdevice it is that you're using to recordaudio so uh let's pull these out andtake a closer lookokay let's take a look at the individualcomponents here sothe receiverhas aclip on it that you use to hooktothe cold shoe on your cameraandit's magnetic so you can pull it off andas you can see you would just clip thatto your cold shoe on youron your camera oryou know you could clip it wherever iguesssoit hasan output here so that's where you wouldplug the uh the trs cable into yourdevice in the case of a camera uh thetrss cable i believe is the one that'sused for smartphones so you could usethisuh to record to a smartphoneand then you have volume buttons on theside you have minus and plus right thereas well as an on off switch and a usbcfor charging so that's the receiver it'spretty simple let me let me turn it onhere and and see if we've got any powerand look at it it's powering up souh you can see there thatthat it's gotwell the level of charge it says it'sfulland then it has it's set touh m for mono right now and uh let's seewhat happens uh with that well thatdisplay went off so the displayobviously is just on for just a shortperiod of time let's uh let's hit thevolume button here yeah there's thedisplay back let's pull one of these outand if it and and turn it on and let'ssee if it connects yeah and see we havethe green light there sothese two are connected and it alsoshows uh the battery power in thetransmitter this is fully charged sothat's uh that's very cool the fact thatwe can change this guy from stereo tomono is is pretty cool too now i'llprobably leave it on mono most the timethat would mean thatboth of the transmitters would uh recordtoon on a single channel but to do thatyou hold both of the up and down thevolume up and down button for threesecondsandit should change yeah there it ischanged you can see the s there changedit to stereo so i'm going to switch itback to monothere we go it's back to mono so uhthat's pretty important uh and i likehow it's already showing the the levelindicator here so yeah so we can turnthat upas high as you want and you know that'ssomething thati guess we'll have to mess around withand and see where it needs to be i'mthinking that level three looks prettydarn gooduh okaylet's take a look at the transmitterokay so the transmitter is is prettysimple here tooit again you have a usbccharge port on the side however ifyou're using this charge case youwouldn't need that but it's good to knowthat you can charge it individually ifyou need toand then here is the tf card slot or themicro sd card slot why is that importantbecause thistransmitter can record to a microsd cardwhich i think is a fantastic featurewhy would you need thatlet's say for instance that you are outin the field and if you turn your backand you have this transmitterbetween you and the receiver often youcan lose signal and you'll lose part ofyour audiowith thattf card slot you can record to thisdevice and then sync it up later inother words you'll save an individualrecording of your audio and here is thebutton right here this record buttonis how you turn that on so if i knew iwas walking uh far enough away from thereceiver that i was worried about rangei could turn that on and i could stillget all of my audio and speaking ofrange i should have said that earlierthis has athey're advertising a 230 foot rangebut again i'm going to tell you that youthat is direct line of sight so if youhave something between you and thereceiver often you can lose thatconnection and that's why this recordbutton is so cool so uh then you knowyou've got a power switch on the otherside here let's take off the wind muffand take a look underneath see if i canget that off without uhtoo much troublei believe it just snaps on okay sothere's the wind muff uh off of thereand you can see the actual microphoneright there and that hole next to it isto plug in alav mic and it uses a standard three anda half millimeter plug for a lav micand then same as the receiver it's got amagneticcontrol magnetic clip hereto clip it on your lapeland that's fairly strong magnet so lookslike that holds pretty good one of thecool things about it is i think you canthen put this in any direction that youwant sothat's kind of a neat deviceso then this wind muff that is somethingthat is very important to me because i'moften outdoors and in windy conditionsandthere's nothing worse than audio thatyou can't hear because of wind noiseso so this guy just snaps on the topjust like that and and that wind muff ison there soa pretty elegant design here and i can'twait to try it out okay let's take alook at the accessories that they giveus here so i showed you the magneticclip on the on the back of the devicethey give you another magnet a sticky uhmagnetthat you could stick to something andthen you could simply clipany of these to it so special situationsthat's going to be handy pretty coolthat they give you that so then here isthe trs cable for uh hooking up to acamera and you can tell a trs cable it'sonly got two of those dark circles onthe plugand then aa t it's it's either a trss or a trs ican't remember which cable uh that youwould use for your mobile phone and youcan tell that you can see that it hasthosethree dark rings around it and then ofcourse you get the ubiquitoususb-a to usbc cable charge cable forcharging the casewell okay there is only one thing leftto doand we need to get this microphonesystem out in the field and try it outwe're going to try it out for range andi'm going to show you how the recordfunction works on the transmitters i'llsee you out in the fieldhey okay so we're out in the field withthe lensgo 348c wireless microphone system and one ofthe things that i learned already is ihad to turn the uh the gain down on themic on the receiver and down to aboutlevel two because i was really overmodulating at at level threeso uhone of the things we want to test hereis the range so they advertise a 70meter range that's roughly i thinkaround 230 feetso i've got an app on my phone that wecan use to test that so one of thethings i want to show you is how i havethe receiver hooked up to my gopro hero10. so i've got my iphone here and we'rejust going to take a little quickrecording around it and you can see i'vegot the receiver mounted to thecold shoe on the side of the camera onthe on the side of the media mod ishould saybecause you need the media mod with thegopro in order to plug in uh the wireless mic it's got the three and ahalf millimeter trs uh microphoneporton the media moduh so one of the cool things about it isthis thing is magnetic so i can pull itoff of hereand and i can show you the clipand uh there's the clip right there andthen this guy will justgo right back on and you know you couldturn that however you wanted and i see imoved my camera when i did that so i'mgoing to straighten that out a littlebit so that's how thereceiver is mounted on the gopro so youcan see i've got the transmitter just uhclipped onto my shirt here and it isalso magnetic so i don't know how muchthis noise is going to make when i pullit off herebut there there is thetransmitter itself and then you can seejust the clip is on my shirt and i canmagnetically reattach it souh while we're looking at the uh at thethe transmitter here the microphone youcan see we got the wind muff on the topand i showed how that clipped on thereearlier and then this button right hereis to start internal recording on thetransmitter and we're going to use thatin a little bit uh in fact i might aswell just start it right now sowhat therecorder will do in here and it's a goodthing i looked i i see i don't have ansd card installed i've got it in theother transmitter so let me switch thatover so i powered the transmitter offthere just so i could install the sdcard but you can see hopefully the sdcard in the side there and and what thisguy will do when i turn this on holdthis button down for three seconds it'llstart blinking red and that means thatit's recording directly to the uh to thesd card from uh on the on thetransmitter here so let's do that rightnow and it's red and it should startblinking yeah and it's blinking now sothat means that we're recording so uhthe cool thing about this magnetic uhmount is that i can just click it backon and i'm good to gouh so that's kind of a handy feature sothe next question is why do we want torecord directly to an sd card on thetransmitter well that is so that whenyou have your backor you are your body is between thetransmitter and the receiver that's onthe gopro uh often that will cut thesignal and you'll get dropoutswe've all seen videos where that'shappened has happened to meusingthe other wireless mic system that ihave and sooften i'll be walking out into the fieldto demonstrate something with a droneaway from the camera and the camera isrecording my audio the goproso i need to be able to have uh reliableaudio while i'm walking away and thisprovides thatyou can then just sync up what you gotoff of the sd card with the audio that'son the camera and then you have a fullaudio stream so what we're going to donow is we're going to test and we'regoing to test the range and then i'malso going to walk away from the cameraand then i'll cut back and i'll show yousome before and after stuff in otherwords without the recording from thetransmitter and show you how it will cutout when you turn your back on it so letme show you the app that i'm going touse here it's just called a to bthat's the name of the app andi need to clear it off i had it i'dalready used it and all it does is it'sjust got a start button and a stopbutton and it's in meters only so sowe're going to measure in in meters hereand then you can convert it to feet ifyou would likeso this is supposed to have a range aclear range ofof 70 meters and we'll probably go outeven further than that okay so i'mzeroed out on the app here and i'm gonnawalk out uh 10 meters first here andlet's see how we doyesfive meters there 7 8 9 and 10.so that's 10 meters and i'm quite surethat we'll have good reception therelet's go out to 20 meters nowandout at the about close to the tree hereah it's a little more than now it'sshowing like 23 meters from where westartedand i wonder if we got any dropoutsthere i'm willing to bet that we didso let me turn around and let's uh let'sgo out to 35 metersokay here's 35 meters andi'm sure we cut out in the meantimethere when i had my backto the receiverbut now let's go out to 50 metersthere's 4045and 50 metersuh souh i'm willing to bet when i'm turnedthis wayuh that we're getting a good receptionon the receiver but as soon as i turn myback i'm sure it's cutting out but we'reokay because we've got the recording onthe sd card on the transmitter that wecan then sync up with uh with the audiouh that's on the gopro so let's go outto that 70 meterand i noticedmy phone kind ofwent to sleep there for a second so ihad to tap on it to get it to wake upthere's 60 metersand 65 metersand we're right about 20 metersa little over 70 metersso i'm willing to bet that it'sreceiving uh very well at 70 meters andi'm sure it cut out when i turn my backuh so uh let's go out to 100 meters andsee where that this 70 meters which is230 feet is what this thing is rated atbut let's see if it'll go furthersotap on my phone againthere's uhalmost at 80 meters85 meters90 meters[Music]95 metersand there is uh there's a little over100 meters now i'm curious if thereceiverwill continue to receive at 100 meters isuspect it probably will we've got clearline of sight etc so i'm willing to betwe're good it'd be interesting to knowjust how far outthis this guy will actually go but let'sdo some other things let's look sidewaysherestill get gooduh rf receptionon the receiverand and see if if it cuts out how itcuts out andhow that affectstheradio transmissionfrom the transmitter on my chest here tothe receiver on the cameraso one thing i do knowis walking back towards the camera herewe're going to have a good solidtransmission soi'll just shut up till we get back tothe camerahey okay so uh that was kind of aninteresting experiment uh i won't knowthe full results of it yet till i gethome and plug all this in and see what'sgoing on i just thought of somethingelse let's try this real quick i'm goingto talk while i'm turning around hereand let's see if it cuts outthis closeit will maintain a connectionwhile i'm this close to the camera butbut i don't know that for a fact so wewill we will have found out thereuh but with all virtually all of thesesystemsuh no matter who makes them you need adirect line of sight from thetransmitter to the receiver on thecamera and that's what makes this uhrecorderin the transmitter just a little bit ofgeniusokay i discovered a couple things aboutthis lensgo case that i want to talk about so let meopen it up and that's just pushing thisbutton right here and we showed you thisa little bit in the introand uh you know what's what's cool aboutit is everything uh fits in here you gotthe two transmitters on each side andthen the receiver fits up there and thenyou can put your trs cable in there andyou've got it in one handy littlepackage now uh i like all that uh buthere is the downside i guess you couldcharge these individually from and thisis the othertransmitter so i can show you that fromthat usbc port on the side there youcould transmit them or charge themindividually off of that but this chargecaseyou can see those thosekind of bronze colored or gold coloredconnectors there is how you actuallycharge itand then you hook up a usbc cable andyour charger to there your charge blocki initially thought that this wasactually a powered charge case i haveanother wireless microphone system that i useoftenthat the case itself actually has abattery in it so when you're out in thefield you can put everything in thereclose it up and it'll start charging theindividual devicesthis device won't do thatyouit has to be powered to charge thedevices so you know that's just a littlebit of a downside for me because like isaid what i'd like to be able to do isi'm out in the field i'm doing somethingi'd like to be able to stick them in thecase and have it recharging the theindividualreceiver and transmittersso you know that's one thing but it ishandy to have this case to keepeverything organized and by the way ialso found out the hard way that youhave to have the case open when you'recharging and then the lights will blinkon the on the various devices so inother words if you plug it in and youclose this door on the case it's notgoing to charge this has got to be openand then you'll it will be charging thedevices the devices blink red whilethey're charging when you get a solidred light on them you know they're fullycharged hey so okay i guess that's aboutit uh for the lensgo 348c wireless microphone system you're going to see meusing this a lot in my videos and doingsomefurther testing and and we'll see how itgoes uh soi'll be able to report uh later on afteri've used it for a while and if i seeanything particularly good orparticularly bad i'll let you know butin the meantime i guess that's about itthis is marcus crawford with the idahoquadcopter channel outand if you like this kind of contentplease consider subscribing to mychannelmost of all i absolutely appreciate youwatching this video and yeah we'll seeon the next one uh the lensgo 348cmicrophone system i'm going to be usingthe heck out of this guysee you guys later
