hi folks today we're going to be lookingat a couple of wireless lav mic we're starting off with the audio on mysony alphaa73 so this is the onboard microphonewe're also going to be comparing it tothis uh you know inexpensiveuh cardioid mic obviously these micsserve different purposesbut you'll get a good idea of how thesemics sound compared to the wireless lav mic okay so again right now this is theonboard micnow the first one we're going to look atis the cinco um g1and this wireless mic comes with twotransmitters and one receiverand it's really nice set we're going totake a look at this oneand we will also compare it to this muchmuch bigger setthis is the lensgo lwm328c which is a much moreprofessional set and we'll compare theaudio quality and take a look at it okayall right so the lensgo lwm328c you get this uhtransmitter and receiverand these are two really heavy dutyunits um really high qualityconstructionuh all the connections you can see herethey screw inum comes with this carrying pouch whereyou can toss everything into ithas all the cables that you need butdoesn't come with any charging cablesso you can see herethese units have a battery tray and youcan pop it out and you put into abatteriesso if you're using rechargeablebatteries like i am you can actuallycharge them through these usb-c portsbut if you're not using rechargeablebatteries don't charge them because yourbatteries could explode and damage theunit okaynow these units are significantly biggerthan for exampleyou knowthiscincog1 so the single g1is significantly lighter significantlysmaller rightso we'll see how they perform you knowfrom an audio perspectiveokay soright now i have the cardioid microphonemounted on the side of the cameraand obviously this isn't you knowtotally comparable because you're notgoing to use a cardioid mic for the samepurpose that you're going to use awireless lav micbut this just gives you a comparison ofthe audio quality you would expect toget from a cheap cardioid micversus a wireless lav mic okay now whati'm going to do is i'm going to stepback a little bit so you can you knowsee how it picks up sound uh from alittle bit of a distance okayso right now i'm about 10 feet away fromthe camera and the mic so you canprobably still hear me really wellbecause i can see the uh audio metermoving up and down so what we're goingto do now is we're going to switch overto the lav mics and see how they soundall right so now we're on the lensgo 328c and you can see here i have the uhreceiver over here connected to thecameraandin my hand i have thetransmitter unit okay and just to doublecheck that we'reactually on the transmitter we'll do atap test okayalright so hopefully you could hear thattap um in the recording and what we'regoing to do is we're going to just stepback okayall right so right now i'm about youknow 10 12 feet away and hopefullythere's no signal loss or a signal delaywhat i'm going to do now is i'm going tostep out of line of sight about 20 feetaway and let's see if there's any signaldrop okayso i'm stepping out of line of sight nowjust around the cornerand i'm about 20 feet away and i'm gonnacome back towards the cameraokay and hopefully you know there was nointerferenceum so yeah this is a really heftyprofessional grade unit rightyou can tell by the construction you cantell by the connectionsthe plastic housing everything on thisjust really feelsheavy duty and top notchthe only thing i would say though is itis quite heavy so if you compare it to aunitlike this cinco g2 for exampleg1 for exampleuhyou know the audio quality might be alittle bit different and the connectionconsistency might not quite be thereespecially at alonger distance but this unit issignificantly lighter and easier to workwith rightso i think you have to you have toreally uh weigh what you're looking foryou know literally uh when you'relooking at these uh lav mics you know doyou need the portability um do you needthe stronger signal and the betterconnection rightso definitely depending on what you'reprioritizing you may want to bring youmay want to go with something moreportable like the cinco g1um if you're looking for a better signalif you're you know working at longerdistances i think you'll probably wantto go with the lensgo all right so now i'm on this cinco g1andyou can tellwhen i tap the microphone um you candistinctly tell that on this mic hereand the unit is extremely lightweightvery easy to pair on this unit itselfit's got apower buttona charging port and then you can controlthe linkage and the low pass cut offokayon the receiveryou have the ability to control the gainso you have a switch with a gain forthe transmitter a and band then you can also switch it betweenmono and stereo mode so right now i'm instereo modeand if you press the power button onceit goes into mono mode okayso what we're gonna try with this uh g1is to see what happens here let meswitch it back to stereo mode right backto stereo modeum what we're going to try with this g1is see what happens when we move out ofline of sightand see if there's any interference okaysoi'm just going to step backso i'm about 10 feet away now andyou knowhopefully it's still picking everythingup perfectly fine now what i'm going todo is i'm going to step over this wayi'm going to be about 20 feet away fromthe receiver okay and out of line ofsightso we're stepping over to the side hereokay and what i have noticed is that asyou're moving around especially as youmove in and out of line of sight andmove change your distance you know therecan be a little bit of interference umbut it's hit or miss i think if you'resitting standing in front of the cameraor sitting in front of the camera andyou're really close to receiverthe interference is not that bad but ifyou're moving around a lot definitelycould be interference okayso the cinco g1 in my opinion is areally good unit because it's solightweightit's so small it's so portable youaren't even going to know that you'rewearing it or carrying itand the audio quality is generallypretty goodbut it is susceptible to interferencebutit has definitely has its strengthsbecause you know it's just absolutelytiny okay
