wireless microphone system called 348c

there are different types of videos asyou might know documentaries interviewsdual interviews vlogs and so on for eachvideo you might need a specificmicrophone that's we're gonna talk abouttoday we go through different devicesi'm gonna share why and when i'm using aspecific mic after the intro[Music][Applause][Music]hello i'm so happy to see you againhow's it going so today it's not reallya review i'm gonna show you why and wheni'm using a specific microphone and i'vegot with me two different devices by thebrand lensgo it's my firstcollaboration with these brands i've gotwith me a directional microphone this isthe limdmm2 all the links in the descriptiontop and this is a wireless microphone system called 348c let's start bytalking about the directional microphonethe lim dm m2 what is a directionalmicrophone as the word saysa directional microphone picks up thesound from the direction the microphonehas been pointed to let's say i have asubject right here next to the camera onthe left hand side of the camera if iwant to pick up the sound from thisperson i need to direct the microphonetowards the subject if i face adifferent direction the microphone willpick up the sound from this directionnow and not from my subject so that's agreat way to have a precise and specificarea to target this is the type ofmicrophones you also see on films withthe boom stick you know the the big uhthings on top of people's heads that'swhat they use for picking up the voicesof the actors usually on set how can wemake it handy in our users life like adaily user's life usually i usedirectional microphones when i'mvlogging so when i hold the camera in myhands and i'm always facing the cameraand the microphone this is actuallycalled on camera mics some comes withbatteries and some don't which is agreat thing i don't usually buy the oneswith batteries so i don't have to chargeextra things you just plug it into thecamera very user friendly place it ontop of the camera and you're ready to goalways make sure you are talking towardsthe mic so this way because themicrophone here is actually at thebottom here at the device it's not atthe top they're usually quitelightweight compact you can find alsosmaller microphones and i recommend togo and check the lensgo website becausethey have different options so if youhave a gopro for example camera you canpurchase a smaller one which is more orless this size and it's definitely moreportable they also come usually with ashock mount so whatever you do with yourcamera the microphone will not pick upany sound coming from the actualmicrophone or the camera itself theyalso come usually with the windshield soif there's a bit of breeze outside thewind is going through the microphoneruining your sound you just put yourwindshield on top it's also called thatcat kind of looks like a dead cat sorrywhat that cat doesbasically is spread the breeze the windgoing towards the microphone through thehair through the fur andin that way the wind it's not going toreach the end of the microphone and yoursound is going to be nice and clear atthe end in post-production so bear inmind you want to use a directionalmicrophone when you want to facedirectly your subject also i use it oncamera when i'm not too far away fromthe recording device actually i'm goingto put it on the camera because rightnow i'm talking through the wirelessmicrophone which we're going to talkabout it in a second and i want to showyou how the two sound differently andhere i am speaking through thedirectional microphone in front of mycamera this is how far i am from thecamera the volume and the gain is thesame as before with the omnidirectionalmicrophone so yeah that's how i soundthat's the difference let's switch backto the wireless and let's talk about itnow let's talk about the wirelessmicrophone system it's self-explanatorywe don't need to connect through a cablethis microphone to the camera that's whyit's wireless because actually we have atransmitter which is the one i'm usingright now here which has a built-inmicrophone sothis is actually the second onesometimes these systems comes with twotransmitters so you can use it for twodifferent people talking at the sametime and this is exactly the same i'musing right now they usually have abuilt-in microphone as well right thereso i can just put it somewhere on myclothes and start talking now how doesit work we also have a receiver which isa device very similar to the transmitteron top of the camera and the receiver isconnected to the camera this time so theaudio goes from the transmitter to thereceiver straight into the camera thebuilt-in microphones areomnidirectional microphones which meansthey can pick up the sound from all thedirections around the microphone itselfwhich is very different from thedirectional microphone we've seen beforethis specific kit is called the 348c by lensgo once again all the links inthe description tab down here they comewith different features and they'repretty cool actually apart from beingvery portable andtiny and light how do i use thismicrophone usually i use it forinterviews so if i'm interviewingsomeone sitting down on a sofa on achair quite far away from the camerathis is the perfect way the perfectdevice to record sound from the subjectbear in mind the best use ofomnidirectional microphones and lapelmicrophones is to have them directly onthe subject himself herself as i do haveright now of course you don't want tohave the microphone right into someone'smouth but this is a good distancebecause they're closer to the subjectthe less noise will begained in the microphone so if you'reusing an omnidirectional microphone bearin mind not to keep it too far away fromthe subject but you need to have itquite close to the sound source this isactually a great tool when you dodocumentaries and you're walking aroundand you have a camera on a tripod forexample you want to go far away some ofthem can have a signal quite strong andyou can walk away from the camera moreor less 200 meters or so so it's veryhandy in those situations there we arethat's probably 100 meters i guessthat's okay let's walk back when youhave dual interviews so two peopletalking in front of the camerayou have the option to select the stereomode you can record in mono and stereomono is usually needed when you haveonly one person talking which means youcan record the sound on only one trackbut when you have two people in postproduction you might want to separatethe two voices and with the stereo modeyou can record one person on one channelon the left channel for example and thesecond person on the right channel thenduring the video editing you can splitthe two tracks andseparate the two voices for bettermixing other features of these uhsystems well of course they come alsowith the windshieldas you've seen for the directionalmicrophone now this is in white if youwant a more professionallook i would go for a black color forexample because it's a kind of acamouflage when you put it on someone'sjacket oryou know darker clothing usually youwant to have something a bit darker itkind of hides a little bit more coolfeature of these specific ones are theclip the magnetic clip at the back sothere's a magnet here at the back of themicrophone and you can literally plug itin on any metal surfacenow i have the clip on my jacket rightthere but let's say i don't haveanything to clip it onto they also comewith a metal disc that you can put underyour clothing and then with the magneticclip you just attach it right thereand it will stay in place and anothercool thing i love is the case becausethe case apart from being a hard casethis one specifically they usually arethe chargingdevice for the transmitters and thereceiver so what you do is to place yourdevices in there and they will chargethrough the case the charging time hereis an hour and a half more or less andthe devices will run for seven hours soyou can record all day longwith the microphones also thesemicrophones don't only have a built-inmicrophone but you can plug in anexternal another microphone lapelmicrophone for exampleso if you have a spare lapel mic there'san input mini jack port right here onthe microphone you plug it inand now i'm talking through the lapelmic right therevery cool very easy and very versatileas well so these are the two types ofmicrophones i wanted to talk about todayif you want to step up your video makinggame don't forget the importance ofaudio recording once again i hope thisvideo was helpful go and check out lensgo i can't wait to see in the next videothanks for watching love you guys thanksfor taking me to 6 000 subscribers we'regonna reach 100 000 these years keepsubscribing like the videos i'll see yousoon ciao
